What is guiding us?

The love for God as response to his call.

We are all called to work in the vineyard of the Lord, each one according to the gift that God has given to us. When you hear this "voice" that calls you, you cannot stop to think about it, to interrogate yourself, to rebel, to rejoice  acknowledging that you are the right choice ... and finally to respond taking the first step towards the One who comes to you, may be even in the uncertainty ... but just that it means you are choosing to trust God.

How he wants his daughters

we deduce from the present rule of life, which though renewed through the ages has remained faithful to the spirit of the First Rules in which the spirituality and style of life were clear. So also, from the biography of sr. Ignatia Teresa written by don Rubino, to keep alive in the luigine Sisters her example and virtues life.

From the Constitutions:

  • N°1. The congregation of the Oblate Sisters of Saint Luigi Gonzaga, known as the Luigines – an Institute of Pontifical Right – is composed of sisters who consecrate themselves to the service of God through the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, obedience; they pledge to live in fraternal communion; they operate together, in the search and realization of the Father's will; they accept the common law of work and strive to be neighbours to one and all, but especially to the poorest of the poor.
  • N°8. Sister, consecrated life through vowed profession of the evangelical counsels, is a stable form of life which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, gives you the possibility of following Christ at a closer distance and to become part of the Father's project and witness of His love.
  • N°9. It has its roots in baptismal consecration, of which it is a more perfect expression and it places you in a better position to strive for perfect charity at the service of the Kingdom of God, and to dedicate yourself in His honour, to the edification of the Church and the salvation of the world. Through the evangelical counsels, concretely upheld in the spirit of your religious family, you freely take upon yourself, the type of life that Christ has chosen for Himself and which He proposes to those who accept the gift of his call.
